Let’s face it, business casual outfits can be slightly tricky to nail down. And that’s because you wanna look professional but still maintain a slightly relaxed and comfortable style.
I sometimes find myself scratching my head trying to figure out an ideal outfit
Luckily after some research, I’ve curated some fabulous business casual outfits that will have you feeling confident, comfortable and look totally chic at work. Let’s waste no time and get straight to it!
Navy Button-Front Sweater & Jeans

Nothing says effortless style like a classic navy button-front sweater. It’s unique in that it’s polished enough for the office but still has that cozy and relaxed feel. Truly underrated!
I like to pair mine with a great pair of medium wash jeans. In my opinion, this look is perfect for a casual work day or one when you want to keep things simple yet stylish. I usually finish the outfit with some cute ballet flats, depending on what I’m feeling.
Blazer, White Top & Khaki Cargo Pants

Blazers are truly a staple in any wardrobe, and of course, a business casual one. But wait, pairing them with khaki cargo pants? Well surprisingly, this combo 100% works. I mean, it just does!
I just love the contrast between the structured look of a blazer and the relaxed, utilitarian feel of cargo pants. Throw in a white top underneath and you’ll have an outfit that’s clean and professional.
The key here is to tuck in your white top to avoid looking too casual. If you think a pair of sneakers is too casual, swap it for a pair of loafers or low heels.
Blue Collared Top, Black Pants & Ballet Flats

For those days when you want something a lil’ bit more feminine, a blue collared top paired with black pants is a great option. I think it’s an underrated combo!
Plus, the collared top adds a touch of professionalism, while the black pants keep the outfit grounded and work-appropriate. I love finishing this look with ballet flats for a chic, comfortable vibe.
I recommend choosing a pair in a neutral shade like black or nude, but you can also have fun with patterns or metallics! Sky’s the limit here.
Brown Top, Black Pants & Loafers

Brown and black is one of my favorite color combinations for business casual outfits. Reason being that it’s so chic, understated, and totally office-appropriate. Nothing too flashy yet elegant, you know?
I’d finish the outfit with a pair of black loafers as it’s comfortable, stylish and great for busy days at the office. If you want to add a little extra flair, try choosing a top with some texture, like a ribbed pattern or a satin finish for that sheen.
Finally, throw on a pair of statement earrings or a watch, and you’re all set to attack the day!
V Neck Sweater & Light Wash Jeans

If you’re looking for an outfit that’s casual but still office-appropriate (enough), a V-neck sweater and light-wash jeans are a great option.
I like to go for a slightly oversized sweater in a neutral color, think off-white, beige, grey, or soft pink for a slightly more sophisticated touch. And, light-wash jeans add a relaxed and breezy feel to the outfit which makes it perfect for a laid-back day at work.
Add a delicate necklace or a neck scarf to tone down the casual vibe and bump up more formal elegance!
Blue Button-Down Shirt & Black Jeans

A blue button-down shirt is a business casual essential. Like, it’s a must.
It’s professional, timeless, and super easy to style. Also, pairing it with black jeans will create this chic and polished look that’s indescribable.
I think a part of the reason is that the black jeans keep the outfit looking modern, while the blue shirt is the perfect classic touch that it needs. Tuck in the shirt for a more refined look, and finish with a pair of black loafers or ankle boots.
If your workplace allows it, or you think it’s fine to do so, you can leave the shirt untucked for a more casual look.
Matching Vest Top & Skirt

There’s something so chic about a matching set, especiallyyy when it comes to business casual attire. I’m a firm believer that a vest top paired with a matching skirt will create a streamlined, pulled-together look/silhoutte that’s perfect for the office.
Choose a set in a neutral color like camel or grey, but you can also have fun with prints, textures and fabric. Add a pair of heeled ankle boots or loafers to keep things professional, and throw on a cardigan or even a blazer to complete that look.
Fitting Top & White Pants

White pants are a great way to freshen up any outfit. Pair them with a fitted top for a sleek, professional look that’s neat, comfortable and flattering. Even more so when your pants is a wide-leg cut.
For the top, I prefer to choose ones in colors that contrast with the white pants—like brown, navy, black, or even deep green to make the outfit pop and draw attention to the top. Put on some heels or flats, and you’re all set for a day of hustle and bustle.
Meetings, presentations, or whatever the office throws your way.
Suede Jacket, White Tank & Jeans

A suede jacket is a wardrobe pieces that doesn’t get talked a great deal. But it should!
I think it’s a great way to add some texture and flair to your outfit. It’s easy to style too, I just pair mine with a simple white tank and a great pair of jeans.
This outfit is perfect for a day when you want to keep things laid-back but still be stylish. Add some ankle boots, flats or flat sneakers to finish the outfit.
Denim Jacket & White Pants

I know what you’re thinking—denim at work? Absolutely! When it’s styled right, a denim jacket can fit perfectly into achieving an appropriate business casual look.
Especially when you’re pairing a classic denim jacket with crisp white pants. The white pants bring a sense of breeziness and sophistication, while the denim jacket adds a laid-back vibe that keeps things interesting.
You can opt for a dark grey denim jacket or the regular ones, they all work. To complete the look, you can layer a simple blouse or tee underneath the jacket, and you have a stylish yet casual outfit for a day at the office.
Conclusion
Lastly, the key to business casual is finding pieces that balance professionalism with your personal casual style.
With these outfits and tips in my head, go ahead and have some fun with it! But don’t stress too much okay? Looking stylish at work or for business doesn’t have to be complicated.
